Killer dubbed The Serpent arrives in France after release from Nepalese prison
Charles Sobhraj (78 years old) is an elderly French citizen that arrived in France just after serving one life sentence for murder in Nepal. Due to his role in several deaths of travelers from Canada and US in the 70s, the serial murderer has been imprisoned in Nepal since 2003. Sobhraj arrived in Paris on the weekend, via Qatar on a plane from Nepal. The Associated Press was informed that he had arrived in Paris by Isabelle Coutant-Peyre (his French lawyer). It’s likely that Sobhraj, who has been found guilty of offenses in the past will appear before the Paris’s legal system upon his return.
Charles Sobhraj has had a troubled past. His tale of life as well as numerous crimes have made him popular with the media. In the days leading up to his arrival in Paris, it is important to pay tribute to the victims and their families , and take this opportunity to extend our sympathies and love to all those struggling to recover from the loss of their beloved relatives. Sobhraj’s story illustrates just how vital it is for us to keep our eyes on the ball with regard to international crimes, especially when it involves vulnerable people such as travelers.
